Scouts

Being a Scout

Scouts is the fourth section in the scouting family, and is typically seen as the original section. Scouts are typically 10.5-14yrs old. As an active scout troop, we get up to all sorts of exciting and adventurous activities, both in our regular meetings and on camps and visits

The Scout Motto is ”Be Prepared”

Activities and what you’ll get up to

Scouts are at the age where they can experience the true adventure that scouting has to offer – from arts and crafts in the meeting place to jumping off cliffs, climbing, sailing, hiking, raft building and many more! We aim to give scouts a wide range of experiences so they can learn some new skills by accident along the way.

We meet every Thursday from 7:15pm to 9pm at Padworth Village Hall (https://w3w.co/factor.fixtures.looms)

Scout leaders

Our leadership team is entirely made up of volunteers who enjoy running scout meetings and camps! All adult leaders have training and an Enhanced DBS check, and there is always at least one adult who is First Aid qualified.

If you would like the opportunity to do something you’d never thought of doing, while having lots of fun and giving back to the community at the same time, please get in touch – we can always do with more leaders! You don’t have to be an expert in all-things-scouting – the only essential ingredient is wanting to have fun scouting!

Our Scout leadership team is Jim (Section Leader), James, Chris, James and Jane
