Being a Cub
Cubs is the third section in the scouting family, after Beavers and before Scouts. A Cub is typically 8-10.5yrs old.
The Cub Scout Motto is ”Be Prepared”
Activities and what you’ll get up to
Cubs do a wide range of activities, including the occasional camp. Activities range from arts and crafts to climbing and abseiling to kayaking and sailing – we like to give the cubs an experience of the adventure that scouting has to offer! Our programme is carefully planned according to the “Balanced Programme” philosophy that scouting promotes in order to provide a wide range of activities and experiences
We meet every Monday from 6:30pm-8pm at Padworth Village Hall (https://w3w.co/factor.fixtures.looms)
Awards
Completing the award, challenges you to do more, learn more and be more. See what’s on offer and start your journey to the top.
Cub Promise
I promise that I will do my best
To do my duty to God and to the King
To help other people
And to keep the Cub Scout Law.
Cub Law
Cub Scouts always do their best
Think of others before themselves
And do a good turn every day.
Moving up to Scouts
Eventually, it’ll be time to say farewell to Cubs and embrace your next big adventure.
Uniform and badge placement
You don’t need a uniform to join. But once you’ve settled in, you’ll start speedily earning badges, and you’ll need to know where to put them!
Cub leaders
Our leadership team is entirely made up of volunteers who enjoy running cub meetings! All adult leaders have training and a CRB check, and there is always at least one adult who is first aid qualified
If you would like the opportunity to do something you’d never thought of doing, while having lots of fun and giving back to the community at the same time, please get in touch
We can always do with more leaders!
